Perm engine builders restored war memorial
Large-scale restoration of the war memorial near the A.G.Soldatov palace of culture
This memorial complex was founded in 1967 in honor of the engine builders who took part in the World War II and sacrificed their lives for the Victory over the fascism.
For more than forty years the memorial has worn out and required renovation.
"Perm Engine Company" JSC came forward with the reconstruction initiative.
Its co-financing was supported by such leading aerospace companies of Perm city as "Reductor-PM" JSC, "Aviadvigatel" JSC, "Proton-PM" JSC agreed to co-finance the project.
The reconstruction works included replacement of the asphalt coating and curbstones, renewal of paving slabs, side bollards, new greenery planting etc.
On the Victory day the memorial will welcome the war veterans of the engine-building industry with refined festive look.

For four years of the WWII 3266 employees of Plant # 19 were recruited to front by Perm and Perm District military enlistment offices. 1016 engine builder were killed in the battlefields, were missed in actions or died in the hospitals.
Many an employee who wished to go to the front as volunteers did not get permission from the military enlistment office. This was because Plant # 19 (that's how "Perm Engine Co" JSC was called during the war) required experienced, competent specialists.
Engine builders working at that time on the home front made a dramatic contribution to the defeat of the fascism. The total of 208 875 aircraft engines were produced by the USSR during the World War II including 31000 engines made by Plant # 19. It means that every seventh engine was made in Perm!
