VETERANS CONGRATULATING IS A GOOD TRADITION OF PERM ENGINE COMPANY

On 12th February, 2007 Perm Motor Group congratulated the Ex-director of the Plant named in honour of Sverdlov (now it is Perm Engine Company) Boris Georgievich Izgagin on his 88th birthday.

The veteran was congratulated by General Director of Perm Motors Group Management Company Valerii Zheglov and by General Designer of Aviadvigatel Stock Co. Alexander Inozemtsev.

Valerii Zheglov said that congratulation the outstanding specialists of the company is their good tradition. "We are proud of the fact that the history of Perm engine-building, which is more than 70 years old was created by such people as Boris Georgievich", - he underlined.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Boris Georgievich Izgagin was born on 10th February, 1919 in Tchusovoi town, Perm region. He graduated from Perm Technical School of Aviation. In 1939 he began his career at the Perm Engine Plant named in honour of Stalin. Here are the main stages of his career: technologist, head of assembly department, head of production and at last General Director of Perm Plant (at that moment it was the Plant named in honour of Sverdlov). The last 18 years, after he had left his important post, he was working at the plant as a leading engineer in operation service.

Boris Georgievich has done much for his native city and plant, being a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. At that time every year 30-40 sq.meters of housing were built for citizens and the plant employees, schools and kindergartens were erected.

Boris Izgagin was happy to work with outstanding people of his epoch, among which were the legendary directors of the "Perm Engine Plant" - Anatolii Soldatov and Michail Subbotin, general designer of aviation engines Pavel Solovjov.

In 2001 the name of Boris Georgievich Izgagin was put down in the encyclopedia "The Engineers of the Urals", published by the Ural department of Russian Engineering Academy and dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Ural industry.

Fruitful work of Boris Georgievich Izgagin was awarded by the medal "For Noble Work during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45", by the orders of Lenin, "the Badge of Honour", "the Red Banner of Labour", "the October Revolution" and by the "Veteran of Labour" medal.

He awarded the title of a Hero of Socialist Labour, the State Prize of the USSR, the title "Honoured Citizen of Perm", "Honoured Creator of Space Technology", "Honoured Engine Builder".
