PERM “URAL” GAS TURBINE GENERATING SET for Severo-Gubkinskoe oil & gas field

June 2006. Aviadvigatel OJSC and Orient-Terra Ltd. entered into Agreement for supply of "Ural-6000" gas turbine genset for Geoylbent facilities.

"Ural-6000" gas turbine genset (developed and manufactured by Aviadvigatel) is intended to produce electric power for industrial users and dwellings. It can be used for co-generation of electric power, heat and hot water, if a boiler is integrated therein. AC electric energy is produced by GTG-6-2RU3 synchronous 3-ph generator (manufactured by Privod OJSC), which is driven by GTU-6P gas turbine based on D-30EU-6 engine. The engine automatic start-up and the genset operation control and monitoring will be performed by an integrated control and monitoring system developed by Star OJSC.

Severe climatic environment and geological conditions of Severo-Gubkinskoe oil & gas field, the lack of a common electric grid require using non-standard approaches and new technologies to be applied in Geoylbent facilities. Thus, since the year of 2001, the system of electric power supply has been updated by replacing PAES-2500 power plants with GTES-4 gensets (manufactured by Iskra-Energetika CJSC), which feature GTU-4P gas turbine (manufactured by Perm Engine Co.) and this makes it possible to provide stable power supply, when oil wells production size rises and new facilities are put into operation.

"Ural-6000" genset contributes to higher power from 8 MW to 14 MW.
