At the first day of MAKS Air Show Perm engine builders signed a contract with Silk Way Airlines of Azerbaijan for delivery of five PS-90A-76 aero-engines

On August 21, during the first day of International Air Show, Perm Motors Group signed a contract for delivery of five PS-90A-76 aero-engines produced by Perm Engine Company.

The contract was signed by the Managing Director of Perm Engine Co., Sergey Smolin, and General Director of Silk Way Airlines, Kamran Gasimov.

As Mr. Gasimov said, the PS-90A-76 engine empowers the one and only IL-76 aircraft to fly freely all over the world because the engine parameters meet all noise requirements of ICAO Stage 4. "In 2002 the flights of IL-76-TD were put under a ban, but now the aircraft gets a new birth thanks to the PS-90A-76 engines and has began flying world wide without any restrictions. The aircraft may land airports of Frankfurt, Paris, Tokyo and other cities in the world. This gave an impulse to the development of aerospace industry in our region and opened new prospects for our airline".

One IL-76-TD-90 is currently in service at Silk Way Airlines. The second aircraft is under assembly at Tashkent Aviation Amalgamation. It will be ready late in 2007. Today the contract for the engines (four engines plus one spare) for the third aircraft of the airline was signed. The aircraft will be delivered to the airline in the next year.

Additional Information

The PS-90A-76 engine is a modification of the PS-90A aero-engine. It is a bypass turbofan engine with mixing fan and core duct airflows and a thrust reverser in the fan duct. The engine is used to re-engine all models of already exciting IL-76 and power new models of the aircraft.

The PS-90A-76 engine meets ICAO 2008 standards (Amendment No.5) as regards harmful emissions and makes active aircraft compliant with up-to-date and future noise requirements.

Like world analogs, the PS-90A-76 has no limitations for maximum MTBO and assigned service life.
