Serguei Ivanov visited PERM MOTORS

On November 24, 2005, Serguei Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of RF Government and RF Minister of Defense paid an official visit to Perm Motors Group.

The Minister started his visit to Perm Motors from survey of the Group companies' products: aero engines, helicopter gearboxes and transmissions, industrial gas turbines. In particular, Seguei Ivanov was shown D-30F6 engine for the fastest fighter-interceptor in the world MiG-31.

After the workshop tour Serguei Ivanov held a meeting with participation of Commander-in-Chief of Air Force Vladimir Mikhailov, acting as Perm region Governor Oleg Tchirkunov, General Director of Perm Motors Group Alexander Inozemtsev, as well as top-level officers of RF Ministry of Defense accompanying the Minister. One of the problems discussed at the meeting was conclusion of long-term contracts (2...3 years) for manufacturing and supply of aero engines for Russian Ministry of Defense.

After the meeting there was a joint press conference of Ivanov, Tchirkunov and Inozemtsev. Serguei Ivanov confessed that the visit to Perm Motors greatly impressed him. He said that Perm has not only preserved but significantly extended their capabilities in military-industrial complex: today Perm Motors successfully produce and overhaul state-of-the-art aero engines, helicopter gearboxes and transmissions. "I was pleased to see that alongside with the product for the military-industrial complex Perm produces industrial gas turbines used in power generation and gas transport industry", - said Serguei Ivanov.

According to him, in the next year the state order to defense enterprises supplying their product to Russian Air Force will double. Specifically, under the Program of IL-76 military transport aircraft re-engining Perm Motors Group will get an order to manufacture and supply four PS-90A-76 engines.
