TRANSAERO buys 2 engines
2 new PS-90A engines were delivered to Kazan Aviation Manufacturing Amalgamation (KAMA) by Perm Engine Company (PEC) on November 12, 2005. The engines will be installed at the first TU-214 aircraft of the Transaero Airline.
Financial Leasing Company (FLC) and Transaero Airline signed the agreement for the 15-years leasing delivery of 10 TU-214 airliners, manufactured by KAMA. The aircraft are intended to enter the Transaero fleet in 2006 - 2007.
PEC is going to sign an agreement with FLC for the delivery of 6 more new PS-90A engines not later than the end of 2005. FLC will need 20 new engines as well as stanby ones.
The aircraft for 210 seats each will be of a standard complete set.
According to experts, today TU-214 is one of the best aircraft manufactured by Russian aviation enterprises. It doesn't have any limits on over Europe and USA flights, noise level, engine emission and navigation equipment used.
At the current moment there are 8 TU-214 airliners operating in Russia: 4 planes at DalAvia Airline , 1 - at KrasAir Airline, 3 - at the Rossia State Transport Airline.
NOTE: TU-214 is a medium-haul passenger airliner, designed by Tupolev Airframe Company. The serial production began in 1996. TU-214 is a modification of TU-204-100 with increased take-off weight and wider flight range.
