PS-90A1 Aero-Engine Certification in Process of Completion

Perm Motors Groups has been completing the PS-90A1 aero-engine certification tests, which have been started about 5 months ago. One of the latest phases of the certification was conducted earlier in October in Voronezh.

The PS-90A1 aero-engine is a modified model of the PS-90A aero-engine. The engine main specific feature is the higher maximum thrust, which is increased to 17,400 kgf. Besides, the engine is equipped with a dry low-emission combustion system and has the second-generation acoustic treatment.

The PS-90A1 engine is designed for the IL-96-400T cargo aircraft and for the long-haul IL-96-400M passenger aircraft.

Now the IL-96-400T aircraft with the PS-90A1 engine is also in process of certification. 

During International Air Show'2007 Perm Engine Company and Ilyushin Finance Co. signed a Contract for the delivery of 15 PS-90A1 engines for the IL-96-400T.

The IL-96-400T aircraft is a modified model of the IL-96-300 aircraft with higher take-off weight. The aircraft meets all international requirements. Up-to-date aerodynamic parameters of the aircraft, fuel-efficient PS-90A1 engines, high payload, improved design of the airframe and high-reliable functioning systems contribute to the maximum efficient service of the aircraft.  

The IL-96-400T aircraft certification is being performed as specified in the Federal target-oriented Program "Development of Civil Aeronautics of Russia for 2002-2010 and for Period till 2015".
